Did it work? I doubt it.
Well, here’s a little tidbit about this Lawyer of the Year nominee you may not have known: he paid money to have women say he’s hot. Yup, apparently that’s the type of ego that thrived in the muck of the 2016 Trump campaign. According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, Cohen engaged the tech services of one John Gauger and his company RedFinch. The goal of said engagement was reportedly to manipulate some online polls and create a fan Twitter account @WomenforCohen
During the presidential race, Mr. Cohen also asked Mr. Gauger to create a Twitter account called @WomenForCohen. The account, created in May 2016 and run by a female friend of Mr. Gauger, described Mr. Cohen as a “sex symbol,” praised his looks and character, and promoted his appearances and statements boosting Mr. Trump’s candidacy.
And because just about everything associated with Michael Cohen and the Trump campaign reads like a thirteen-year-old playacting what they think a mafioso would do, you have to read how the WSJ is reporting Gauger was paid for his services:
[Gauger was paid with] a blue Walmart bag containing between $12,000 and $13,000 in cash and, randomly, a boxing glove that Mr. Cohen said had been worn by a Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter, Mr. Gauger said.”
Cohen countered this, saying: “All monies paid to Mr. Gauger were by check.” But really in my mind Cohen will always be paying with a wad of cash in a plastic bag.
