Paul Manafort’s lawyers thoroughly beclowned themselves this week after giving the world easy access to their redacted filings, but at least they’re still able to practice law. That’s something Manafort can no longer say about himself after surrendering his law license in Connecticut before a misconduct hearing next month threatened to take it away.
Manafort, likely to find himself jailed for a spell, wasn’t planning on using his Connecticut license in the near future, so why invite another embarrassing hearing when he can just walk away with his head held… well, not “high,” but “not low.”
But check out Manafort’s counsel in this matter, from the Courant:
The name of the law firm representing Manafort, whose contacts with Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign have made him a central figure in the investigation of special counsel Robert Mueller, is ironically Ury & Moskow.
Can’t make this stuff up, folks.
