Smollett Case Goes to the Grand Jury

CHICAGO--Detectives are presenting evidence to a grand jury Wednesday afternoon that actor Jussie Smollett filed a false report when he claimed to have been the victim of a racist and anti-gay attack last month, police said.

"He's officially considered a suspect," said Chicago Police Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

Mr. Guglielimi said that filing a false report is a class 4 felony.

This is a very strange case. Strange that (if the allegations are true) he did it and strange that he thought he could get away with it.
