The New Year brought some incredibly unfortunate news to the legal community in Indiana, where a law firm partner was shot to death in her own home.
Laura Crowley, 59, a graduate of Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis and a partner at Lee Cossell & Crowley where she specialized in medical negligence, was found dead by her adult son alongside her live-in boyfriend, Danny Kilgore Jr. Police are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide. CBS4 of Indianapolis has additional information:
The investigation began at the home in the Shireman Estates neighborhood. Police believe Kilgore killed Crowley before turning the gun on himself. …
Martinsville Police Chief Matthew Long told CBS4 that Crowley “planned to terminate” the couple’s relationship and cited that as the likely motive. Long said several people close to Crowley revealed that information to investigators.
A search of court records did not reveal any previous history of domestic violence between the victim and suspect.
We here at Above the Law would like to extend our thoughts and sympathies to Laura Crowley’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
